Common Spa Water Problems
Some common spa water problems and their treatment
| Cloudy water: Test with test kit | |
Cause pH to high or low Total Alkalinity to high or low Low / No Sanitiser Suspended particles in water Dirty / worn Filter Cartridge |
Solution Adjust to correct range (7.2 - 7.6) Adjust to correct range (80-120ppm) Add more Sanitizer Add 1 or 2 caps of Spa Clarifier & run for up to 24hrs Clean or Replace |
| If you have adjusted / treated as per all the above and the problem persists, drain and clean the spa and refill. | |
| Smelly water: Test with test kit | |
Cause As Above Contaminant Build Up in pipes/pump |
Solution As Above Add System Cleaner into Spa, run, empty, refill |
| Bather Irritation: Test with test kit | |
Cause Incorrect Water Balance Contaminant Build Up Dirty / worn Filter Cartridge |
